Brad Cox doesn't need this Kentucky Derby win — but it would help

Brad Cox, known as one of the best trainers in horse racing and a leader of the next generation, has yet to win the Kentucky Derby. Despite being awarded the 2021 Kentucky Derby win with Mandaloun, Cox has yet yet to step into the winner's circle. This year's race will feature multiple contenders, including Florida Derby winner Commandment and Bluegrass Stakes winner Further Ado. Cox has won the Eclipse Award twice and is expected to claim more than $30 million each year in 2021, 2023 and 2025. Despite not having a win, Cox acknowledges that he is looking for the winner, not the favorite.
