Iran Football Federation President, Mehdi Taj, has expressed doubts about his team's participation in upcoming matches on United States soil following the U.S. and Israel joint attack on Feb. 28, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Taj did not anticipate a boycott of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but predicted that the Iran team's involvement would be affected by the attacks. The current schedule for Iran's matches includes New Zealand on June 15 and Belgium on June 21, with both matches taking place in Inglewood, Calif. However, FIFA has no plans to reschedule or move these games.
