Piedra Vista defeated Volcano Vista in extra innings, marking the end of an almost "almost" baseball season for the Hawks. The Panthers, ranked No. 2 in the top 10 poll, scored five runs in the eighth to secure a 9-4 District 1-5A victory. Coach Jeff Kiraly praised his senior-led team, which has been playing well and playing consistently well. Second baseman Cody Clugston played a crucial role in the victory, breaking a 3-3 tie and breaking a 4-4 tie. The only loss the Panthers have suffered so far was to a team from Bend, Oregon.
