Actor Sean Penn, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Another Day Another Battle," was welcomed to Ukraine by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after he missed the Academy Awards ceremony. Penn was in Ukraine at the start of the war when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, which resulted in nearly 2-million casualties between the two countries. He was also in the country at the time of the Russian armed forces' unprovoked attack on Ukraine in 2002.
