Former CIA Director John Brennan believes that the resignation of Joe Kent, a top intelligence official, indicates a split within President Trump's "Make America Great Again" coalition. Kent, the top aide of Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, announced his resignation and criticized the ongoing military operations in Iran in a social media post. In his resignation letter, Kent stated he could not "in good conscience" support the ongoing war in Iran and accused the president of starting the war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. Despite this, DNI Tulsi-Gabbard defended the president's decision to militarily intervene in Iran. Brennan suggested that Kent's resignation could negatively impact Gabbabbard's relationship with the White House.
