Rodent issues have been reported at three South Florida restaurants, including Pack Supermarket in Miami, Georgie’s Alibi Monkey Bar in Wilton Manors, and Azumare in Aventura. One restaurant was shut down for the third time due to a rodent problem, with inspectors finding a dead rat. Other restaurants found droppings next to utensils and food prep areas, and tomato sauce being held at unsafe temperatures. At Takato in Fort Lauderdale, insects were seen landing on clean plates and sushi mats. At Restaurant Brands International in Miami there was a mold-like buildup inside an ice machine used for drinks. All three restaurants have since reopened after a required cleanup and re-inspection.
