A survey conducted by David Shor’s Blue Rose Research has found that Americans are recognizing the use of artificial intelligence as a threat to both the economy and society. The survey also found that when asked about the federal government's role in providing assistance for workers who lose their jobs to AI, the public overwhelmingly favored workers. 55% of respondents agreed with the statement that tech companies should not be able to make unlimited profits from AI and should be held financially responsible for American jobs that AI eliminates. This sentiment comes as AI has become more prominent in what voters view as important issues than any other topic over the past year. The study also revealed that nearly two-thirds of respondents said their life has become less affordable over the year and one in four were confident about their financial future.
