Waymo Opens Driverless Rides to the Public in Nashville

Waymo's robotaxi service has been launched in Nashville, becoming the first city in Tennessee where riders can hail a self-driving vehicle. The company, which is owned by Google's parent Alphabet, plans to expand its service to more people on a rolling basis. Interested riders can download the Waymo app and wait for an invite, and its cars will be available on the Lyft app later this year. The service area includes the neighborhoods of Broadway, 12 South, Midtown and East Nashville.
