President Trump approves $16 billion natural gas generator to be installed in Anderson County

President Donald Trump has approved the construction of a $16 billion natural gas-powered generator in Anderson County, Texas. The generator, capable of producing up to 5.2 gigawatts of natural-gas-fired generation, will be one of two set to be built in Pennsylvania, bringing the total potential generation up to 10 gigawatts. Texas Rep. Cody Harris said the generator will bring 3,000 long-term and high-paying jobs and allow for a reduction in property taxes. The decision was made in response to Japan's $550 billion investment commitment to the United States as part of the U.S.-Japan trade deal.
