Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is set to voluntarily appear before the House Oversight Committee on May 6 to answer questions about his connection to late Jeffrey Epstein. The date was announced in early March by committee chair James Comer, R-Ky., but a date had not been set until now. Lutnik had previously been a neighbor of Epstein's in New York City and stated in 2005 that he was disgusted with the politically connected financier. However, records show that Lutick and his family visited Epstein's island in 2012 and that he appeared to invite Epstein to a small Hillary Clinton fundraiser in 2015.
