Djibouti's President, Ismail Omar Guelleh, won with 97.8% of the vote, marking only the second time since 1977 that the country has had a president. The election was held after the constitution was amended to remove the upper age limit of 75 for presidential candidates. The results still need to be validated by judges on the constitutional council before Guleh can be re-elected.
