Two commercial planes nearly collided on the tarmac at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday, April 20. The crew of Republic Airways flight 4464 performed a "go-around" at JFK International after straying from its intended flight path and flying too close to Jazz Aviation flight 554. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) cleared the Jazz Aviation plane to land on a parallel runway. Anti-collision warning alarms began to sound in the cockpits of both planes. The FAA is investigating the incident. This incident follows a near collision at Nashville International Airport earlier this month.
