Anthropic has unveiled its latest AI model, Claude Mythos, which can detect and exploit thousands of previously undiscovered zero-day vulnerabilities, in an effort to combat cyber threats. The model is so powerful that Anthropic is wary of releasing it to the public, stating it surpasses all but the most skilled in finding and exploiting software vulnerabilities. The company aims to use this powerful model to combat additional security threats using the increasing use of generative AI. It is part of Project Glasswing, a major security initiative involving 11 of Anthropic's partners including Amazon Web Services, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Palo Alto Networks.
