Chicago will see a chilly start Monday with light flurries across the lakefront, followed by clear and sunny skies in the afternoon. High temperatures will only reach the low 40s, with lakeside areas feeling even colder. However, by mid-week, temperatures are expected to rise again, with high temps expected to reach the mid-60s for the Cubs home and season opener on Thursday. The persistent heat dome continues out West and into the Western Plains, while late-season chill grips portions of the Northeast into New England. Little to no precipitation is expected across the Chicagoland area over the coming week.
