One of the warmest starts to meteorological spring

The first day of meteorological spring began on March 1st, with temperatures reaching 68.9 degrees Fahrenheit, marking a record-breaking year for Austin. Only four days of the month have been cooler than normal, with the coldest high temperature reaching 54 degrees Fahrenheit. The high-profile weather event has also seen numerous record-high temperatures, including on March 15th at 97 degrees. The Climate Prediction Center forecasts a warmer than normal pattern for the coming weeks.
