Owner of Southern Oregon wildlife park pleads guilty to more than 40 charges of animal neglect

Brian Tenney, the owner of the now-defunct West Coast Game Park Safari in Southern Oregon, has pleaded guilty to 43 charges of animal neglect and one count each of racketeering, delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a machine gun, short-barreled firearm or silencer, and recklessly endangering another person. The charges were brought against Tenney who was also accused of unlawfully possessing wildlife and improper care of wildlife between July 1, 2023 and May 15, 2025. Tenney remains out of custody and will be sentenced on July 20. The state police and U.S. Department of Agriculture confiscated 322 animals from the safari in May 2025 following a monthslong investigation. The park had been under health and safety issues since at least 2016, including a camel euthanized due to its grave medical condition.
