William Morris Endeavor (WME) has announced a round of layoffs, affecting 30 people, or 3% of its staff, across multiple offices, departments and levels. The staff reduction is believed to be due to industry consolidation, cost-cutting across media companies, shrinking marketplace post-Peak TV, and the end of packaging. The layoffs come a year after WME went private, becoming part of WME Group. The company's co-chairmen, Christian Muirhead and Richard Weitz, addressed the cuts in a company memo.
