The senior marketing team at crypto exchange, Coinbase (COIN), appears to have been recruited by OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT. The team, which includes six members from the top six positions at the company, has been relocated to San Francisco-based OpenAI. The migration began with Sarah Russell, who joined OpenAI as VP, integrated marketing and ops in November 2024, and Kate Rouch, who previously worked at Facebook's Menlo Park headquarters. Kaitlin Gianetti became head of integrated marketing management at OpenAI a month after leaving Coinbase, and Amy (Good) Robbins joined as brand insights lead after leaving. Other notable departures include Tom Duff Gordon, the former VP of international policy at Coinbase, who left to become OpenAI’s head of EMEA Policy.
