Summit County Council has unanimously approved legislation that recognises April 1 as Start by Believing Day. The resolution encourages community members, businesses, and organizations to wear teal clothing to support survivors of sexual violence. The color teal is associated with Start by Belief and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This is part of the annual campaign by the End Violence Against Women International to shift society's approach to sexual violence and abuse reports. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich will host a resource fair at Twinsburg Parks and Recreation’s Community Center on April 21 featuring local organizations providing medical care, therapy and free legal assistance.
