The film, which became the most-watched movie in Netflix's history, will be directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, marking the first of a multiyear partnership between them. The announcement comes ahead of KPopdemon Hunters' performance at the Oscars, where it is nominated in two categories: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. No release date has been announced for the sequel.
