The EV2, Kia's affordable electric SUV, is now available to order in Europe, with the first customer deliveries starting next month. The carmaker has opened EV2 orders at lower prices than expected and has launched the EV2 in several additional European markets, including Spain, the Netherlands, and Ireland. The EV2 joins the EV4 as the second fully electric vehicle built at Kia Slovakia. The vehicle is based on the same platform as Hyundai's IONIQ series and Kia’s other EVs, but uses a 400V architecture like the EV3 to reduce costs. It can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes using a 118 kW DC fast charger, compared to the EV6's 800V system. Kia is offering leases as low as €239 ($275) per month in the UK.
