The Trump administration has asked a judge to reject a lawsuit to block plans for the Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House. They argue that government regulations were in place and that the event falls under environmental guidelines. The plaintiffs, Susan Douglas and Paul Romano, claim the event is not a genuine celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States and is not exempt from rules that prohibit special events on the South Lawn or the Lincoln Memorial. The Justice Department has countered that the National Park Service regularly permits demonstrations and special events at the Stamford.
