Embattled Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer hit with discrimination complaints over response to husband’s alleged sexual misconduct

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer has been accused of retaliating against female employees who reported her husband's alleged sexual misconduct to them. At least three Equal Employment Opportunity complaints have been filed against the embattled secretary. Two of the complaints allege that Shawn DeRemer, the wife of the embattled labor secretary, sexually abused them inside the department's Washington, DC, headquarters. The Labor Department staffers allege that Chavez-deRemer created a hostile environment and feared punishment for speaking out or resisting directives they considered inappropriate. This comes amid a broader probe of the "hostile" work environment fostered by Chavez-eusthen.
