The team had previously trailed early in their previous games against Charlotte, Oklahoma City, and Houston. However, on Friday, the Knicks changed their strategy and jumped up 20-1 and held Chicago without a basket until seven minutes in, leading to a 78-41 halftime advantage. Head coach Mike Brown attributed the team's sluggish starts to poor defense. The Knicks are currently the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with four regular-season games remaining.
