The company's products, which have gone viral due to their popularity and appeal to children and adults, are causing a shortage due to social media craze. Retailers are now selling out of their restocks within hours of opening stores due to the surge in demand. The CEO of the company, Paul Weingard, said that within the first nine weeks of the year, they had sold through the whole year's inventory within nine weeks and exceeded their ability to replenish. Some retailers are now refusing to stock the product until the craze comes to a halt due to customer behavior.
