Movie theater lobbyist Michael O'Leary has written to the National Association of Attorneys General, the Democratic Attorneys Generations Association, and the Republican Attens General Association to oppose the Paramount-Warner Bros merger. The merger would result in fewer jobs, decreased choices for moviegoers, higher tickets prices, increased leveraged rental terms on cinemas by studios, potential multiplex closings, and decreased ticket sales. O'lear argues that the merger will harm Main Street America, as theaters are vital cultural and economic engines for their communities. Paramount CEO David Ellison has promised that the new merger will maintain 30 theatrical releases a year. However, many are concerned about the future of this strategy, with fears that it could lead to a decline in theatrical releases.
