Apple removed its Launchpad-like app and replaced it with the Apps app in the release of the Mac App Store. However, developer Attila Miklosi, who uses AppGrid for third-party applications, has been blocked from updating the app in accordance with an Apple guideline that it violates an Apple rule that AppGrid looks too similar to Launchpad. Despite this, AppGrid is still available for purchase on the App Store and can't be updated, allowing Apple to collect its 30 percent cut every time someone buys it.
