Syracuse's men's basketball coaching search is being hampered by a lack of interest in top candidates, with Saint Louis coach Josh Schertz recently agreeing to a six-year extension worth at least $20 million. Bryan Hodgson, a Western New York native and South Florida coach, reportedly told the Orange that he was good. However, it is believed that Syracuse has not adapted to the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) era and is not as flush with financial resources as other programs. The team is competing with Arizona State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Providence in the coaching market. If Syracuse continues to fail, it may have to turn to UConn assistant Luke Murray or program legend Gerry McNamara.
