Medical expert explains why Cade Cunningham's collapsed lung likely isn't as bad as it sounds

Detroit Pistons player Cade Cunningham has been diagnosed with a collapsed lung, and will undergo reevaluation in two weeks. This is consistent with an injury that athletes can recover at a rapid rate. Dr. Juanita Mora, a Chicago-based physician and member of the American Lung Association, explained that in most cases, air is pressing on the lung and if symptoms are not worsening, a chest tube may be inserted to drain the air. If Cunningham were to miss 40 days as McCollum did, that would extend until April and all of the first round of the playoffs.
