The University of Eastern named four honoursmen, including World Bank Executive Director Harold Tavares, Local philanthropists David and Marilyn Foster, and alumna Beth Regan '79 for the 2026 graduating ceremony. Tavares will deliver the keynote address and receive the university's second annual Distinguished Public Service Award. The honorary doctorate of humane letters will also be given to local philanthropists, David and Mary Foster, during the undergraduate ceremony. The Fosters have shown a lifelong commitment to public service, community betterment, and Eastern's mission. The university's president, Karim Ismaili, praised Tavares' achievements, highlighting his focus on expanding opportunity and strengthening communities globally.
