The European Council President, Antonio Costa, has stated that Russia has been the only winner from the Middle East war as energy prices and decreased attention for its war against Ukraine have increased. He emphasised the need for the EU to protect the international rules-based order, which is being challenged by the United States. Costa also urged the return of all parties to the negotiating table.
