Alibaba CEO takes helm of new AI-focused business group

The CEO of Alibaba Group, Eddie Wu, has taken over from the role of the company's Qwen AI model division. The new group will comprise existing Alibaba units including Tongyi Laboratory, MaaS, Qwen Business Unit, Wukong Business Unit and AI Innovation Business Unit. The move comes after the departure of Qwen's head, Lin Zhang.
