A U.S. court has unsealed an indictment alleging that Super Micro Computer (SMC) used a Southeast Asian company as a middleman to generate fake paperwork indicating it was the end user of the servers, then repackaged the hardware to conceal its destination before it was shipped to China. The company did not have a license to export servers featuring Nvidia GPUs to China and was accused of using "dummy" servers at the company's facilities to deceive its compliance team. The indictment led to a 33% drop in Super Micro's shares.
