The recently inspected Ambler Restaurants in Montgomery County have found numerous violations, including issues with rodents and insects, damaged tiles, holes in walls, and minor paperwork details. The restaurant was cited for several violations including a lack of required shellstock tags for 90 days, inadequate storage of dirty dishes in the mop sink, missing test strips for sanitizer concentration, and a food prep cooler holding potentially hazardous foods at 58°F with an ambient temperature of 50°F. Other violations included warewashing machine issues, cutting boards with deep grooves and heavy discoloration, rodent-attracting gaps around doors, and food containers stored directly on the floor in the walk-in cooler and freezer. Pizza Box did not have a certified food protection manager and lacked soap or single-service towels at the bathroom hand sink, and extensive physical facility issues including broken, missing or damaged tiles on retail floor. San Martin was also cited for multiple violations including the absence of soap, single-serving towels, inadequate handwashing signage, and improper storage of food containers, and unapproved ceiling tiles. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture stated that these inspections are a snapshot of the day-to-day operations and overall condition of an establishment.
