Grace VanderWaal, a 22-year-old alum of America's Got Talent and winner of the show, has shared a rare post on Instagram about her struggle with mental health. She stated that she was choosing herself and is choosing to focus on her health over the upcoming Natalie Jane tour. The news was supported by tourmate Natalie Jane, singer Jewel, Carson Daly, and Carson Daly. Other celebrities have also shared their support for mental health awareness efforts, including Gucci Mane and Penn. Penn, real name Radric Davis, revealed in his book Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and had a mental health episode in 2020.
