San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama recorded an NBA playoff record of 12 blocks and scored 11 points with 15 rebounds, becoming the third player in postseason history to achieve such a feat. However, he expressed frustration over his energy management and admitted to using too much energy. He also missed all eight of his attempts from 3-point range, marking the most misses from deep without a make by a player in Spurs playoff history. The Spurs lost 104-102 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Minnesota's defense, particularly the frontcourt duo of Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle, played a significant role in the loss.
