There are now seven confirmed measles cases in Washtenaw County, including four people aged 5-17, two adults and one child under 5. All cases are linked to an unvaccinated man who returned from a trip to Florida. Health officials have added four new exposure sites and urged people not to visit their doctor or hospital for treatment. The measles usually occurs within seven to 14 days after exposure and can be exacerbated up to 21 days after. The single dose of the MMR vaccine is approximately 93 percent effective at preventing measles, and two doses are about 97 percent effective.
