Henry County Commission Chair Carlotta Harrell has fired County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews without taking the issue before the full Board of Commissioners for a vote. Harrell stated that the decision was made with the support of the majority of the board. However, new legislation indicates that removing the county manager would require a majority vote from the board, and Harrell called the firing a "sad day" in Henry County.
