Oil prices have dropped following Iran's increasing attacks on Gulf energy facilities, with Iran retaliating after Israel's attack on Iran's key natural gas field escalated. The international standard, Brent crude, fell 0.4% to $108.19 a barrel, following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that he would hold off on further attacks on Iran’s gas field at President Donald Trump's request. Meanwhile, Asian shares were mostly down following Wall Street losses. South Korea's Kospi gained 0.3% and Japan's Nikkei 225 was closed for a holiday, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 1% and the Shanghai Composite index was down 1.2% to 3,957.05. The U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth met with the families of six service members who died in the Iran war and said the message he received was consistent and supportive. No injuries were reported to Kuwait's National Petroleum Company.
