Cleveland presses DigitalC over broadband numbers

Cleveland City Council is investigating the nonprofit DigitalC for its 2025 numbers. The nonprofit was awarded $20 million to build a low-cost broadband network and must connect 23,500 formerly disconnected households to meet the terms of a four-year contract. However, critics argue that there is no reliable way to verify the sign-ups. The $18-per-month Canopy service now has over 9,000 subscribers.
