Jeremy Ferguson, a senior nonprofit executive behind downtown Santa Monica's business and placemaking efforts, was found dead alongside his wife, Mandy Zelinka, at their Venice residence. Ferguson, who served as Director of Operations for Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., was found with a gunshot wound and his wife with a shotgun wound. Police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide as a possible motive. Ferguson had previously sent a suicide note to a friend with instructions on how to access the property.
