Jana Nicole Halaska, a 30-year-old woman from Hillcrest, was sentenced to four years in state prison for stabbing two men in Ocean Beach, California. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on April 13, 2025. Halaska witnessed a confrontation with the men after one of them kicked another woman. She then stabbed both men in the chest, piercing their lungs. The third victim, Gabriel Millan, was identified later that night as a friend of Halaska and it may have been accidental. Despite her claims that one man displayed a knife before she stabbed him, the judge ruled that this was unprovoked and that Halaska had overreacted. She received jail credits of 370 days and was fined $1,140.
