The Montgomery County Board of Education made major decisions regarding the 2026-2027 calendar year and the revocation of the MECCA Business Learning Institute's charter. The board did not alter the start time or adjust the spring and winter breaks, but marked some religious holidays that could be used as makeup days. The calendar adjustments were made to comply with new state regulations that require schools to account for weather-related makeup days, which were rejected by board member Rita Montoya. The final day of school is expected to be June 11 unless inclement weather forces the district to use these days. Despite a survey released to ensure community feedback, the school board voted in favor of the proposed calendar.
