Taylor Swift fan Alexis Christensen, who sued StubHub after her $14,000 Eras Tour tickets were replaced with "inferior" seats at a concert in Vancouver, California, last year. Christensen claimed that her tickets were exchanged for a "side view of the stage" and that StubHub pocketed the difference. However, a federal judge has ruled that Christensen cannot pursue her allegations in federal court due to her signing an arbitration agreement when she purchased her tickets, meaning she waived her legal right to sue StubHub. This ruling means that Christensen must instead pursue her accusations via arbitration, a private dispute resolution process, rather than federal litigation. The case was clearly barred by StubHub's arbitration clause, which stipulates that if tickets purchased aren't legitimate, the company will find comparable or better tickets or offer a refund or credit.
