Trucker dad Peter Garamone, a married father of one, has died after being struck by lightning, marking the first recorded fatality of its kind this year. The incident occurred outside a gas station in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, where he was walking towards his vehicle when he was hit. Despite managing to call 911 and report the incident to the authorities, he was pronounced dead at a hospital. The National Lightning Safety Council confirmed that this is the first lightning fatality this year, although no formal cause of death has been established.
