BYU basketball analyst Mark Durrant has praised the team's rebuilding efforts, particularly the additions of Robert Wright III, Collin Chandler, and Bruce Branch, 6-7, Betsey Betsey (6-8), 6-10 Dean Rueckert and Jake Jake. Durrant believes that if BYU can find the last missing piece at the five spot, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Despite being under-sized in their biggest games, BYU went 0-4 against Texas and Texas in the NCAA Tournament. The coach Kevin Young retained Wright, who entered the transfer portal and took a recruiting trip to Kentucky, and Chandler was another needed piece. Durrants believes the change in the game can be made for the Cougars, who were previously underperforming in their big games against UConn, Arizona, and Texas.
