Apple is rumoured to be developing a 200-megapixel camera for an iPhone in either 2027 or 2028, a significant increase over the 48MP sensors used in the latest iPhone 17 Pro models. However, this increase in pixel density could pose a problem for low-light photography, as seen by Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS). The report was backed by Morgan Stanley, suggesting the 200MP camera would be launched in a 2028 iPhone. If confirmed, the high-density sensor would only be used for the telephoto lens. This suggests that this new sensor will be introduced in next year's iPhone lineup, rather than 2028.
