Scoop: Gallego met with Ethics after GOP lawmaker accused him of misconduct

Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz) met with Senate Ethics Committee staff after GOP lawmaker, Laura Luna, accused him of sexual misconduct. Luna alleges that the allegations are "sexual in nature" and involve campaign finance violations. Despite not receiving formal notice of an Ethics Committee investigation, Gallegeo initiated the meeting. He has publicly acknowledged being close friends with Rep. Eric Swalwell, who resigned from Congress after being accused of sexual assault, harassment and rape, all allegations he denies. The meeting comes amid renewed scrutiny over sexual misconduct on Capitol Hill following two other lawmakers resigning over similar allegations.
