Jones responded to a fan's request about potentially facing Alex Pereira at the historic card on June 14 in Washington D.C. He claims his asking price was lower than the $15 million offered for a heavyweight title unification bout and that his fight was worth more. Despite this, the UFC eventually shifted attention to booking Pereira against Ciryl Gane in an interim heavyweight title fight instead of Jones.
