Rhode Island-based offshore wind farm, Revolution Wind, has begun delivering power to New England's electric grid. The 704-megawatt wind farm is expected to supply enough electricity to power over 350,000 homes and businesses in Rhode Island and Connecticut once it is fully operational. The power generated by the wind farm will be made available through fixed-price, 20-year agreements with energy utilities in both states. This comes after the Trump administration suspended the leases for five offshore wind farms, including Revolution Wind due to security risks identified by the Pentagon. Rhode Island Energy President Gregg Cornett said the wind field will provide price stability and expected savings to its customers.
